OUR IMPACT
Girls develop a high level of self-confidence and healthy self-esteem, and gain an understanding of their role in society as leaders and agents of peace and positive change. In the classroom and in the mountains, the girls support each other and learn to take control of their own stories. They understand their human rights, the cultural and societal limitations placed upon them and the role of prejudice and stereotyping in fueling conflict, and perform well as a team across socioeconomic and ethnic lines.

HOW?
Ascend provides formal classroom training, with a focus on critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork, and trust-building activities, and encourages the practical application of learned skills through daily activities. We also conduct multi-day peacebuilding training workshops that include interpersonal conflict resolution, to help girls manage a family as well as wider societal conflicts.
