Girls develop self-confidence and healthy self-esteem, and gain an understanding of how they can positively influence their community. In the classroom and in the mountains, the girls support each other and learn to take control of their own stories. They understand their human rights, how culture and society shape expectations, and self-efficacy skills like communication, goal setting, and interpersonal conflict resolution.
Ascend provides formal classroom training, with a focus on critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork, and trust-building activities, and encourages the practical application of learned skills through daily activities. We also conduct multi-day peacebuilding training workshops that include interpersonal conflict resolution, to help girls manage conflicts in everyday life.
