About The Event
Join us for the Berlin premiere of Ascending Afghanistan: Rising Women. AWC Berlin and KCRW Berlin are partnering to promote two screenings of Ascend's documentary film at the Astor Film Lounge on September 25th. Matinee at 4:45 PM and evening screening at 7:15 PM with VIP reception following the film. Meet Marina LeGree, Ascend's founder, and Soraya Sarhaddi Nelson at the VIP reception.
This event is a fundraiser for Ascend, a registered charity in the United States. 100% of your ticket price will go to the program in Afghanistan because of a generous donor who is sponsoring the venue cost.
A VICE Impact production, the film follows Afghanistan's first female mountaineering team as they attempt their first ascent of a previously unclimbed peak in stunning Panjshir province, conquer the complex social boundaries of being a young woman in Kabul, and return home victoriously.
